Cathy Ellingsworth has over 15 years experience as an educator. She began her career as a classroom teacher and grew into a senior leadership role leading a regional team of academic specialists supporting charter schools in the urban centers of multiple states prior to joining Silverback Learning Solutions. Cathy has contributed to the opening of eight charter schools across three states, two as a classroom teacher and the rest as a leader of a regional support team responsible for developing the principal into a strong instructional and operational leader. She has delivered numerous professional development sessions at a variety of conferences to all levels of educators. Through her career, Cathy has collaborated with several successful urban school leaders and their board of directors in developing high quality instructional programs supported by a positive school culture. The most successful of these schools have closed the racial achievement gap and exceeded their growth targets as measured by the Northwest Evaluation Association's Measures of Academic Progress® (NWEA MAP®.) Cathy holds a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota, and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin.
