Make history with StoryCorps: Interview an elder for the Great Thanksgiving Listen.

Twelve years ago, Dave Isay set up a recording booth in New York’s Grand Central Station. He wanted to document the experiences of everyday Americans through conversations between friends and family.

Today, StoryCorps has recorded 100,000 people across the country, capturing tales of bravery, forgiveness and quiet acts of love.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, the oral history project hopes to double that number. They have created an app that puts the tools of the recording booth in the hands of the public. They are calling on young people to interview a grandparent or other elder in an effort to collect the stories of a generation.

How it works.
